Hubbell Equipment Shelters - Hubbell’s Pad-Mounted and Modular Walk-In Shelters are manufactured with Fiberglass-Reinforced Compos ites that incorporate fire-retardant resins, in combination with chopped fiberglass and woven fiberglass mat, to ensure superior strength and rigidity in our products. Shelters use a female molding process, which results in a smooth and aesthetically-pleasing finish. Benefits include: • DURABILITY - The fiberglass construction results in superior impact resistance, reducing the need for repair or replacement due to denting. The use of a marine-grade UV stabilized gel coat ensures that the fiberglass provides best-in-class protection from natural elements and is able to withstand all types of harsh environments, including transformer oils and chemicals. All hardware is corrosion resistant and through-bolt ed for a secure fit and long service life. • SECURITY – Impact resistance means intrusion resistance. Shelter integrity is increased by use of special ly designed doors, openings, and vents. Shelters are available with a double-locking system that incorporates stainless Penta bolts with padlock provision. The non-conductive characteristics of fiberglass reduce accident potential. And Hubbell Shelters are not only fire retardant, but self extinguishing and unable to support com bustion. • EASY INSTALLATION – The lightweight one-piece design facilitates installation with minimum equip ment required. Shelters are available with fully removable doors to provide full access for routine service and maintenance of equipment inside.

• DESIGN FLEXIBILITY – A wide range of sizes and modifications are available to include equipment-ac cess points, standard and special colors, foam insulation, and secondary barriers for high-voltage applications.
• RUS-Accepted – Enclosures are accepted by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS).
• Meets ANSI C57.12.28 Pad-Mounted Enclosure Integrity Standard.

PAD-MOUNTED – For Easy Access Designed as a protective housing for all types of equipment, including primary switchgear, transformers, metering, auxiliary generators and, pumps, Hubbell Pad-Mounted Shelters are available in 26 sizes. Six different door-opening configurations provide not only security, but also easy access to the valuable equipment that you want and need protected.

MODULAR WALK-IN – For Added Strength •.Multiple Applications - Similar to smaller Pad-Mounted Enclosures, these larger walk-in style enclosures can be used for a multitude of housing applications, such as Substation Control or Relay/Control Panel houses. •.Added Strength - They are designed to withstand 120 mph winds and heavy ice and snow loadings without the need for additional reinforcement. Specially engineered ribs provide additional strength to flat surfaces. •.Expandable - Hubbell Modular Walk-In Enclosures are expandable in 5’ lengthwise incre ments and come in two standard heights. Lifting points on the roof allow the unit to be removed in one piece.
WALK-IN SHELTERS
•.Easy Assembly - Shelters are shipped in sections for easy field assembly, but can be shipped as one complete unit from the factory when required.
•.System Accessories - Engineered packages can be designed, providing a complete system to fit your requirements. Additional doors can be added to each corner or expansion sec tion. Special access panels can be provided as required.

Hubbell Walk-In Shelters Assembly and Installation Guidelines
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
This Hubbell shelter has been manufactured in sections for ease of handling and shipment. While the number of sections depends on the model purchased, assembly remains the same. The sections bolt together with the included 1/2-13 x 1 1/2” long stainless steel bolts. Each seam must be sealed with silicone to protect against weather and water intrusion. Follow the steps below to assemble the shelter.
1. The shelter should be mounted on an equipment pad either pre-cast or cast in place. This will provide a solid foundation to support the shelter and the associated equipment inside. Pads are also available through Hubbell Enclosures.
2. Remove the shelter sections from the shipping crates. Check for damage and verify that the required hardware is included. Use proper care and sufficient personnel when moving the sections to avoid injury.
3. Stand the sections upright in the approximate location of the final assembly. If using a cast in place pad with anchor studs, place the section on the studs but DO NOT BOLT DOWN .
4. Working on 1 seam at a time, align the assembly holes using an alignment pin. Start with the first hole at the bottom of the assembly and then last hole at the top of the assembly. Both sections MUST BE SET TING FLAT ON THE ON THE PAD. 5. Using ‘C’ clamps, clamp the flanges together in several places to prevent movement. Do not cover any of the assembly holes as the clamps should stay in place until the entire assembly is complete . 6. Install assembly bolts with a nut and washers in each hole but DO NOT TIGHTEN !
7. Repeat steps 1-6 for each seam in progression. ALL SECTIONS MUST SITTING FLAT ON THE PAD .
8. Starting at the top, tighten each bolt in one seam. Ensure each shelter section remains flat on the pad surface. Continue with each seam in progression.
9.
Remove the ‘C’ clamps.
10 . Using the proper equipment, lift the shelter from the top only and move it to its final position. Verify that the unit is setting flat on the pad surface and is ‘square’ by measuring from corner to corner in both directions.
11. Verify door operation before securing the enclosure to the pad.
12. Secure to the pad using the appropriate bolt down hardware for the pad being used. Large diameter washers are provided with the shelter hardware.

Hubbell Equipment Shelters Assembly and Installation Guidelines
1. Remove shelter from pallet. Remove all doors from units with lift off doors. Open doors and install door holders on units with hinged doors.
2. Remove the nuts securing the shelter to the pallet. Remove and save the large flat washers at each hold down position. These washers will be required when bolting the shelter to the pad.
3. Lift the shelter off the pallet by using one of the following methods: • Smaller shelters may be lifted by two or more people. • Slings may be passed through the shelter and joined above for connection to a hoist. On longer shelters, these slings must be separated by a spreader Set the shelter aside until the equipment has been installed on the pad and all service connections made.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
4. Install equipment and make all service connections. Bolt equipment frame (when applicable) to pad.
5. Install shelter. Lift the shelter over the equipment to be protected and lower it over the anchor bolts on the pad.
6. Place the flat washers saved when the shelter was removed from the pallet onto the anchor bolts and secure the enclosure to the pad.
7. Replace or close shelter doors. Installation is now complete.
