Above Ground Enclosures - Product Types and Materials

Attention to quality, durability and performance have been hallmarks of every Hubbell above ground enclosure product and solution for more than 45 years. Our comprehensive product offering is tailored to ensure that we meet your specifications and needs while often exceeding applicable industry standards. Our customers experience superior functionality and the unique benefits of refined processes and material types in every Hubbell above ground enclosures product. Whether it’s Hubbell Fiberglass Products, Polymer Concrete Products, FRP Hard-Top Products or PenCell® Plastics Products, Hubbell has a product for your above ground enclosure needs.

Hubbell Fiberglass Products Hubbell Fiberglass Products are manufactured with a fire retardant resin and a combination of chopped glass spray-up and hand lay woven roving glass reinforcement to ensure structural integrity. In addition, the fiberglass is protected by a marine grade UV stabilized gel-coat finish, which ensures longevity. Hubbell Polymer Concrete Products Hubbell Polymer Concrete Products are made from select-grade aggregates in combination with a polymer resin system. When combined through a process of mixing, molding and curing, an extremely powerful cross-linked bond is formed. Precast polymer concrete is reinforced with fiberglass to give it additional strength and rigidity. PenCell Plastics Products PenCell Plastics Products are produced through either an injection or rotational molding process. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is used for the structural foamed injection molding manufacturing process. The main benefit this process offers is allowing the forming of large heavy walled parts which provide outstanding compression strength and durability. Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is used in the rotational molding manufacturing process. This material and process provide complex shaped thinner walled parts which provide superior impact strength and durability. Hubbell FRP Hard-Top Products Fiberglass-reinforced polymer, also called FRP, is a special combination of polymer concrete and fiber-reinforced polymer. This hybrid construction, formed from an FRP shell and a polymer concrete ring, delivers a high strength, lightweight, abrasion resistant product that is protected from ultraviolet rays.
